My Story

My name is Claire Havern. I’m the treasurer for HFWNI.

My father was diagnosed with Heart Failure in early 2022 after having a heart attack and a cardiac arrest. During that time it was very daunting and scary for myself, my mother and my siblings due to the unknowing and lack of education regarding heart failure.

​

I became part of this group to help my father and also to become more aware on how to help someone with heart failure. I also wanted to help make a difference to people with heart failure and their families, carers and friends, so they can get the support and education they need and deserve to help themselves and their loved ones.

​

This group to me is to have another support network for people with heart failure and their families, carers and friends. To have activists, educational sessions as well as community.
